The horror-like tendencies of the plot seemed to only further this very infectious sensation that no one was safe. From the very beginning, between the script from Moreci and the art from Charles and Battaglia, Clandestiny has been quite bleak. ![]() On its own, this fourth issue answers a few questions regarding the purpose of the mission and the fate they must face if they wish to save those left on Earth. Moreci has carefully crafted this script to the point that it is seamless when read as one work. Upon revisiting the first few issues, some of the story’s hints and brief moments are enriched further. ![]() Despite the strength of the tone and craft of the storytelling, the number of mysteries and unknowns that surround each issue certainly keep readers in the dark. The story has not quite yet reached the point where it first opened. In this penultimate issue for the arc, a lot of pieces are put into place and a few more questions are answered. Focusing a bit more on plot momentum and less on philosophy, Moreci has managed to find a great balance over the issues of the second act. Pitched by Moreci as akin to Aliens, the story set 75 years after the first arc has explored some very dark places. The entire arc of this second volume has been quite different in tone and approach than its predecessor. Могло быть круче.By Michael Moreci, Kyle Charles and Matt Battaglia Roche Limit is confused and overhyped-a hot mess that nevertheless has its moments. In sum, while I somewhat enjoyed the setting and finally figuring out the diced-up plot, I have to dock a couple stars for the uneven artwork, shallow characterizations, and head-scratching metaphysical emphasis. The artwork also disappointed, sinking from the high water mark of volume 2, but not quite to the mediocrity of volume 1. ![]() I just could not grok the central premise of the menacing anomaly : the aliens' affinity for humanity, but apparent allergy to human souls. This last volume seemed rushed, delegating plot advancement to monologue and superhuman jumps of reasoning. ![]() Not even the bonus short story, featuring our favorite dispassionate android Hello Danny who is definitely not Bishop, could make up for the series' shortcomings. Well, I had high hopes, but the ambitious story never quite satisfied, despite a valiant late effort to reference characters, events, timelines, and realities in the previous volumes.
